Zernoff Ethanol, part of the Verum Group family, welcomed a group of students from the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Moldova State University. The visit gave future specialists the opportunity to explore the key stages of industrial bioethanol production in a real operating environment.

Together with the company’s specialists, the students followed the technological process from grain reception and raw material quality control to the saccharification, fermentation, distillation and rectification of ethanol.

During the visit, participants discussed the monitoring of physicochemical parameters, quality requirements and the solutions implemented to improve resource efficiency.

Circular Economy and Operational Efficiency

An important part of the programme was the presentation of the circular economy model implemented at Zernoff Ethanol. By-products generated during the technological process are further valorised, including through the production of DDGS, which is used in animal nutrition.

In addition, solutions for recovering and returning condensate to the production cycle, together with modern technologies aimed at reducing environmental impact, contribute to improving the eco-efficiency of the industrial platform.

By integrating these solutions, Zernoff Ethanol continues to strengthen an operating model focused on responsible resource use, industrial performance and sustainability.

Dialogue Between Education and Industry

Within Verum Group, we support cooperation between academia and industry, as well as the development of the human capital required for a modern and competitive economy.

Study visits provide young people with access to practical experience and an applied understanding of technological processes, contributing to the development of a new generation of specialists.

We thank the USM students and professors for their interest, engagement and professional dialogue.
