In 2023, the Republic of Moldova exported over 300 thousand tons of sunflower seeds, 170 thousand tons less than the previous year. The most intense period for export was the end of the year: October, November and December. The main market for the export of sunflower seeds was Romania, followed by Bulgaria and Turkey.

The largest exporter from Moldova, for the 2023 marketing year, is Verum Agro Trading, part of the Verum Group, one of the leaders of the agro-industrial sector in the Republic of Moldova. In 2023, the Company was with farmers throughout the year and exported more than 30,000 tons of sunflower seeds, ranking at the top.

Verum Agro Trading manages an integrated value chain that includes cultivation, storage, sale and delivery of agricultural products, cooperating with industrial consumers and international traders in 14 countries. Being on the market for over 10 years, in addition to its own production, cultivated on an area of 10 thousand hectares in the north of Moldova, the company has developed international trade on DAP, FOB, CIF terms.

In addition to trading with agricultural products, the company also provides grain storage services, owning one of the largest grain warehouses in northern Moldova, the elevator at Gura Camencii, Florești district. This elevator has a storage capacity of over 86 thousand tons and has access to international transport routes.

For the year 2024, the company aims to invest in the expansion of capacities, the range of cultivated agricultural crops and to increase the export share.
